| Classical dressage has been practiced
throughout the centuries by masters of equitation and national
riding academies for the purpose of sport, pageantry and cavalry.
The epitome of harmony between horse and rider, classical
dressage employs the natural and graceful movements of the
horse. We consider the high school, or ‘haute école’,
a living art form.
Classical exercises have simple and precise beginnings as
in any equestrian discipline: walking straight with cadence,
bending when asked and halting calmly. Exercises increase
in difficulty only in proportion to the physical aptitude
of the horse. |
